What I thought about other Middle Schooler’s blog’s0

Sir Francis Bacon once said “knowledge is power”. I recently viewed eight blogs that were created by Middle Schoolers like me. Out of these blogs I gained knowledge, got ideas to put on my personal blog and I got to see what other kids the same age as me are doing in their schools.

For starters, I attained knowledge from a few of these blogs. For example, on the Room 613 Student blogs I learned about the Three Gorges Dam. I found out that it is located in China and people do not want it to be built, but they dont want to stop creating it because its already half-made and they would waste alot of money. Also, that it is designed to generate 18.2 million kilowats of electricity.

Also, I got ideas to put on my own blog. An example is the Groochland Middle School Student Blog. I saw that they reach out to the school nurse and make her feel good. This is a very good idea to put on our blogs to express feelings. Also, on nightweisal.blogspot.com it asks the student to make up a quote. This is also a very creative way of getting kids to think critically.

Furthermore, by viewing these blogs I get an idea of what other kids are learning or doing in their schools. On the http://library.bigbadwolf.org I can see that they are reading Flowers for Algermon by Daniel Keyes, Small Steps by Louis Sachar, TTFN by Lauren Myracle and it tells about each one. I think that this is interesting because kids in our school read these same books.

I really enjoyed viewing these blogs because I gained knowledge, got ideas to put on my personal blog and saw what kids my age are doing in their schools. In my opinion I think they did a fantastic job.

Book Review0

A book that I have read this year was Journey to America Fiona McGilrays story By Clare Pastor. I would recomend this book to many people because it is one of the greatest books I have ever read.It is a tale of a girl named Fiona who lives in Ireland with her father, mother, her eldest brother Patrick, her older sister Mae, her younger sister Mary and her baby brother Sean. The story takes place in Ireland during the potatoe famine. There is not much to eat. This story is also suspensful because Clare Pastor writes in such a way that you are dying to read more. It is also about the importance  of family and how you should be thankful to be together as a family. It also teaches responsibility and caring. In my opinion this is the best book I have ever read.
